ABOUT the PRODUCERS
Twin Cities Public Television (tpt), the PBS member station based in St. Paul, MN, has produced award-winning science programs for kids for over 20 years. Series include the highly acclaimed and award-winning Newton’s Apple, which first premiered in 1982 and had a non-consecutive run on PBS for 15 years. An icon series, its science content continues to be highly sought after by teachers. In 2006, Newton’s Apple was reborn on the world-wide web. With financial support from 3M, the underwriter of Newton’s Apple, an all-new web site with new features and updated content can be found at newtonsapple.tv.
In 2008, tpt celebrates its 22nd anniversary of producing award-winning science programming for kids and families with the premiere of DragonflyTV Nano. This series offers an exciting new twist on earlier seasons of DragonflyTV, introducing millions of people to the important frontiers of nanoscale science and technology. Serving as executive producer for both Newton’s Apple and DragonflyTV is Richard Hudson, who was recognized for his innovative work with an award by the National Science Teachers Association. |
